Reintroduction of Spyderco’s FB04.

Spyderco recently announced that they will be again producing the Fred Perrin designed FB04.  They are apparently making it directly for Mr. Perrin and it will be available through him.  Of course, there will be a few floating around for purchase from other sources.

The only thing that has changed on the new Spyderco FB04 is a black coating on the blade and green Kraton inserts in the FRN handle.  Visually it is quite striking.

Spyderco produced one thousand of the new FB04s on the first run.  Hopefully demand will dictate that more be produced in the future.

I don’t know what the retail price is on the new FB04, but the street price appears to be around $100.00 US.

Compared to the Perrin designed Street Beat, the FB04 is larger with a 5” blade.  It doesn’t appear that Spyderco has any plans to cease production of the Street Beat with the reintroduction of the FB04.

Check out my reviews of the Spyderco Delica, Standard, and Endura Waved!

Awesome!! I’ve been searching high and low, and nobody wants to sell them. I hope that they come out just as good as the last run

This is great news, You can count me in! I was also looking for this type of model, the newer “Street Beat” is a bit to short for my taste and usage of an fixed blade. Hope Spyderco will use the same materials as on the original FB04. Thnx for your info so far. I will check back for updates on this item.
