Spyderco Street Beat

When Spyderco quit production of the Fred Perrin designed FB04, they quickly came out with a replacement, the Street Beat, also a Perrin design.  The Street Beat is a smaller version of the FB04 with a 3.5” blade versus the 5” blade of the FB04.  The Street Beat also has black micarta handle scales, which is an upgrade from the molded nylon handle of the FB04.

The Street Beat is essentially a production version of Perrin’s custom neck knife, the Street Bowie.

The overall length of the Street Beat is 7 3/16”.  It features the same VG10 steel as most of Spyderco’s Japanese made blades, including the FB04.

The Street Beat includes a black plastic sheath that is surprisingly high quality for a production blade.  Spyderco typically does a good job of including useable sheaths with their fixed blades.

MSRP of the Spyderco Street Beat is $249.  I would like Spyderco to make a skeletonized version of the Street Beat so save weight and reduce costs.  One can only hope.
