Milt Sparks Summer Special

People committed to carrying a medium or large frame auto loading pistol concealed typically find that an inside the waistband (IWB) holster works best because the cover garment only needs to conceal the grip of the pistol instead of the whole thing.

The Bruce Nelson designed Summer Special, as made by Milt Sparks, was the original IWB holster.  Pretty much all present day IWB holsters owe credit to the Summer Special.

In 2008, the Summer Special is still a very viable option for IWB handgun carry.  The Summer Special has a reinforced mouth to prevent it from collapsing when the pistol is drawn.  Second, the design of the Summer Special is a slim, stable platform that adapts to a variety of body styles.  Lastly, the Summer Special rides higher than most other IWB holsters, which many people find keeps the pistol muzzle from digging into chairs when sitting.

As evidenced by the Comp-tac Infidel post, there are a lot of other options on the market today for IWB holsters, but few offer the value and performance of the Milt Sparks Summer Special.  If you want a quality IWB holster without the bells and whistles at a price that won’t break the bank, give a call to Milt Sparks.
